Quilting is Back!

Now that I am finally settled into our new house, and I have a table, I am ready to start quilting again. My cousin is getting married next month, and I have to hurry and make her a quilt. I found a really cute pattern in Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting issue from September/October 2005. It's called Cottagewood Patchwork. They used Thimbleberries fabrics. I am not really a big Thimbleberries fan. They are a little dark for my personal tastes. However, I love the quilt pattern and bought some really cute fabrics about 3 years ago. I think I'll use them to make the quilt for my cousin. Unless someone tells me what her colors are. Then I'll make a different quilt for her, and that one for me! :)

In addition to that quilt, I am partially done with a baby quilt for a friend of ours. I started it about a month ago, but between everything that happened in March, I never finished it. I feel bad because now her baby is almost 3 months old! Better late than never, right? I got the pattern from one of my clients, but Lola from Lola...again posted this link during her 100th Post-a-Rama. They show in-depth how to make the same quilt I'm working on, using a charm pack. Such a good idea! I cute my squares a little smaller than charm pack size (4.5 inch square). It's a cute quilt, so check it out!

In the current issue of Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting, there are also like ten or so quilts that I want to do. Pretty much every quilt in the issue! I'll definitely have my work cut out for me! Plus, I'm working on a pattern of my own. We'll see how that goes. I've never designed my own quilt, so it's proving to be a bit of a challenge. Hopefully it turns out. Maybe you'll get to see it in like a year...hahaha I'll definitely keep you updated!

Oh! And the baby quilt I made for my friend got to her yesterday, and she really likes it. I love it when people like the things I make them. It makes me feel so good! Also, last week I got a letter from my other cousin, who had a baby in February, and she loved the quilt I made her as well. Yay!!

I'm not quite back to quilting just yet! I'm in a bag making swing!
I did get my kit from Nanette though. It is taunting me...almost calling me! The fabrics are so cute!
That bag was the "loves me Knot", well...my version at least!
