FREEDOM!!!!

I really should be studying right now, but I had to share my joy.

We no longer have keys to the old apartment! HOORAY!! HOORAY!! HOORAY!!

Seriously, I am so happy that I no longer have to drive up to Provo to clean until 3 in the morning and then drive back down to SF. I can now devote 100% of my "spare" time to cleaning and finishing unpacking....which needs to be done by Monday night because we are getting our new washer and dryer on TUESDAY!!!

Also, my parents came down from the SLC today, with a really great office chair and their old microwave. They picked up 2 gi-normous tupperware containers that I had packed my fabric into (barely) when we moved. Seriously, these are the huge ones that you can pack all your Christmas decor in. Yeah, sad. I have a lot of fabric.

I am so grateful to finally have a microwave again. Seriously, you don't realize how much you take it for granted. Last night we made rolls, and Mike went to melt a stick of butter in the ..... oh yeah, we didn't have a microwave. He had to put it in a saucepan in the oven for 10 minutes. Not anymore though. We have an awesome full-size microwave (that takes up half the kitchen, but I am totally willing to give up that counter space for a microwave!)

Speaking of fabric earlier..... I am now the "squeaky wheel" at our house. I have no where to sew, and it is making me sad. I am going through withdrawls. Mike says that this "squeaky wheel" won't get fixed if it squeaks enough though. I hope think he is joking. I'm hoping to find a remedy for this problem fairly soon, and am welcoming all suggestions. ... except for "use your kitchen table" because I don't have an actual table, I have a folding table and that won't work. :(
Well, it's off to study now, just had to share in all of my joy and excitement over the little things in life.

Done

I have realized that no matter what time of day you drive to and from Provo, there are always people on the freeway. Always.

It can be 3 AM and there will be people on the freeway.

Fortunately, tonight was the last night I'll have to spend there! YAY! We turn in our keys tomorrow at noon. I have to go up a little before to finish cleaning the bathrooms, just the floors, and pick up some stuff to take to the DI, but then I am done with that place.

Fin.

Finished.

Finito.

YIPEE!!!

Well that was fast!

We ordered our new washer and dryer yesterday. They called today to say that they would deliver it on Tuesday, and would call Monday to set up an exact time.

WOOHOO!!! I thought for sure I would be doing laundry next week in the laundromat. Nope, not so! I will have my own laundry room. With my own equipment. Equipment that no one has used before. I am so excited!!!!

So.....Very.......Tired......

It's 3 AM. Well, a little after.

I just spent the last 8 1/2 hours at our former home cleaning. I had to clean the carpets so they would dry overnight, and I could vacuum them again tomorrow and then be done. It took me 5 1/2 hours to clean 2 bedrooms, a hallway, and the living room. Stupid cat hair! Stupid landlady for not telling us she had a cat whose hair is invincible (our Dyson, which I used to vacuum 2 times before steaming the carpets, wouldn't even pick it up! And it's the Dyson Animal!!).

I was doing laundry, too, while I cleaned. I'm sure the neighbors were all so in love with me. Big loud steamer going. Big loud laundry going. And I had my headphones on with the Twilight Soundtrack turned up way loud on my Zune. There was no way I was gonna hear the door if they knocked. Too bad! So sad!

By 12:30 the last load of laundry was still in the dryer. What the heck? It had already been in there forever it felt like! I had to buy blinds, light bulbs, and some other random stuff for the apartment, so I went to Wal-mart. When I got back, the laundry still was in the dryer! It was still going!! UGH!

I swept the balcony, and the carport, and washed the storage shed door off. I wiped out all of the kitchen drawers and cupboards, and almost killed myself several times by nearly falling off the counter.

FINALLY the wash was done. I threw it all in the car and drove home. Like I said, it's a little after 3 AM. I still need to study. I don't think I will. I'm tired.

And the sad thing is I didn't get to do all of my laundry! I still have a load of browns/reds that needs to go in. :(

Oh well....too.....tired.....to.....type.....anymore.......

Behind Update

This post is dedicated to behinds.

I am behind at work. It sucks. I try to catch up, but feel like it's never going to happen. Hopefully tomorrow I can get a lot done. At least two maybe? I'd actually settle for 1 1/2 even.

Marshy has the cutest little behind. He has this funny little problem with his underwear not staying up, and he cracks out a little. It's cute. Until they're down around his ankles and he's yelling "Help! Messes!" Then it's bad.

My pants no longer stay up on my behind, with or without a belt. That's kind of nice. I'm not going to complain....too much. It is kind of a pain to have to keep buying pants and belts. But I did go dress shopping and bought a really cute skirt from Downeast Outfitters, and instead of the normal XL that I buy it was an M, and could have possibly been an S. YAY! Go me! :D

The bathroom flooded tonight, leaking into the kitchen downstairs (UGH!) so now I am behind in my cleaning of the Provo apartment. At least the SF house is clean, mostly (still need to do the cupboard baseboards) Group dinner night on Friday, so that means I have to have it all done tomorrow. YIKES! There goes my afternoon, evening, and night. Thank goodness for TIVO!

I'm also behind in my laundry. Fortunately we are purchasing a BRAND SPANKING NEW washer and dryer tomorrow. WOOHOO! I'm so excited. No telling how long it will take to get here on the truck (we're ordering it through Mike's work, so we get a nice discount), but when it does I will be so happy. In the meantime I need to make time to run all 8 loads of my laundry up to the laundromat up the street. Do you think they have change machines? I've never done this before....totally new to the laundromat scene. I guess you could say I was a laundromat virgin.

I'm currently looking for a sewing cabinet/table to sit behind my couch in my living room so that I can sew at home. I don't have anywhere to sew at as of right now. It makes me sad, and I am going through withdrawls. My poor machine has been cooped up in its box for several weeks and I am sure it is thinking that is will never come out of storage again! :(

We're a little behind in the Aerogarden trend. We finally bought one yesterday. From Sam's Club. For $73.81. It was $169.99 at Sears. How Sam's can sell it for $100 cheaper is beyond me. Oh well, totally excited to have herbs growing in my kitchen :)

I've gone and done it!

So, I did a crazy and wild thing yesterday. My in-laws are in charge of our town celebration this year, and they needed people to head up several events. I volunteered to head up our town's quilt show this year. What the? I never volunteer to do anything! I am 50% excited, 25 %nervous, and 25% scared at what I got myself into.

The crazy thing is that I have only ever been to previous year's quilt shows. That is it. I have never been to any other shows, so I am in major need of some ideas! I have a few good ideas for things that we are working on. Fortunately it isn't until August, so I have plenty of time to plan and get organized.

Give away!!

So, in my random blog reading, I stumbled upon Mother Superior's Blog. They are giving away a $100.00 gift certificate to one lucky person. Definitely go check them out. You have until March 2nd to enter, as they will announce the winner on the 3rd.

One Project a Month?

So, here it is the end of the month almost, and I still don't have a finished project for February! I do have a couple of quilts that need binding. Does that count? One of them is the Froggin' Saur Bankdie, the other is a baby girl quilt, and then I need to attach a hanging sleeve to another quilt I have. So, my question is this: Do all three projects together count as 1? Or as 3 separate projects? At any rate, I'm going to try to get at least the Froggin' Saur Bankdie bound and finished for Marshy-marsh.

Friday, February 20, 2009

Woah what a day!

Today has been CRAZY! I was hoping to get some work done, but alas! That didn't happen. :(

I did however get my quilting blog updated. HOORAY! Yeah, I was only like 3 weeks behind. No big deal, right? haha. I've gotten some really cute quilts from clients, so head over there and check them out.

Tomorrow my nephew, Diana's son, is getting married. I realized today that since I have lost all this weight, I have nothing to wear! My church skirts barely stay on as it is. I had to go shopping.

Also, tomorrow our land lady is bringing people by to look at the apartment we just moved out of. I needed to do some laundry and clean the apartment.

And, Mike needed to get his hair cut. (Which reminds me....he fixed our cable today. Yes, that is right. The man with no cable installation experience whatsoever fixed our cable within about 30 minutes. Remember, it took the cable guys around 4+ hours, and it still was not working? Yeah, my husband rocks!)

Well, we headed over to the shop to get Mike's hair cut. By 1 PM he still hadn't gotten it done. I was starting to freak out, because he was going to some fight night thing up in the SLC at 5:30. Mike told me to just go clean and shop and he'd tend Marshy.

YAY! Shopping childless is so much nicer than shopping with grabby mcgrabberstein! I bought a cute shirt at Deb, a really cute blue and yellow skirt and blue top at Downeast Basics, and the cutest dress ever at DressBarn. I still needed shoes, and found some really cute ones on a great deal at Payless.

I hurried over to the apartment, vacuumed the entire place, and started some laundry. Then I ran back home, picked up my boys, dropped Mike off at his nephew's house, and got Marshy some dinner. Then we went back to the apartment. I didn't get much done because of course Marshy wants to "help"...especially when I was using the steamer! I have to go back up in the morning because of this. We put our last load of laundry in the dryer, and headed for Wal-Mart. We still needed to buy ingredients for a salad we're taking to the wedding tomorrow.

Now, Marshy is watching Ni-hao Kai Lan! on Noggin, while the chicken cooks in the crock pot, and we wait for Mike to get home. Did I mention it's almost 11:30? Yeah. I'm hoping Marsh will go to bed soon.

The wedding is tomorrow....maybe if I remember to take the camera I will have some fun pictures.

400th post Or: Why do I always get the morons?!

This is my 400th post. YAY me! So, to celebrate, I thought I would share another tale of pure stupidity.

Today we were to get our cable installed. They were supposed to come between 8 and 10 in the morning, because I needed to be at work by 10:30. At 11 I called the cable office to find out how much longer I'd have to wait. The cable guy finally showed up at 11:30. Of course they sent me the guy who "don't know much about them thar Tivo boxes". He hooked up the cable to Marshy's TV and hooked the internet and the cable up to the Tivo. Then, while setup was running he left, saying if I had any problems to call him and he'd come back and fix it.

Minutes after he left the setup finished, and wouldn't you know it! The cable didn't work! I called him. This is the response I got: "well call me back after you get home from work and I'll come fix it."

I called him when I got home from work (5:10) He said he'd be over in a few minutes. At 7:30 I gave in and called the 24/7 customer support line and left a message. Of course, as soon as I leave them a message he rings my doorbell.

His temporary solution, because he "don't know much about them thar Tivo boxes" was to unhook the cable from the Tivo and plug it directly into the TV because "usually we just plug them thar cable cards into the TV instead of a box."

He then left, after maybe a total of 5 minutes. I waited 2 1/2 hours for a 5-minute visit! UGH!

Mike called minutes later with a solution. Turns out that the cable card was never actually activated. Yeah! So, I get cable with the cable card removed. I can't record more than one channel at a time, but at least I can watch TV on my Tivo box!

I called the cable support number again, and set up an appointment with another guy for tomorrow morning at 8:30. He is going to come out and activate my cable card. Whoopee! Maybe they'll be able to get it right this time.

In the meantime, I have a question for ya'all.... Why do I always get the morons who don't know what they're doing? Do I have a moron magnet or something?

On a happier note......

We are almost completely moved in to our new house! YAY! We are getting cable TV and internet tomorrow. I am having withdrawls. We don't have antenna TV, so I can't even watch normal TV! It is really hard. Hopefully the install will go well and everything will work right. I can't wait!

Best Buy is STUPID

Okay, first of all I need to apologize in advance to Diana, who has ties to the company I'm about to bash. We should have gone through your connections initially, as I'm sure things would have turned out differently. However, that store was a little too far north for us at the time! SORRY!

On February 1st I bought a brand new Compaq laptop. It had 3 GB RAM, 250 GB harddrive, and an Intel Pentium Duo-Core processor. All very good things to have in a laptop, especially the processor. I paid a whole whopping $369.99 for these goodies.

On February 14th, my space bar popped off. We couldn't get it back on. We took it to the store. Mike sat in the car with a sleeping Marshy, while I went in. I waited for 30 minutes to speak to a Geek Squad person. After I finally got someone to come help me, he said that rather than send the thing in I needed to just exchange it for something comparable. He sent me over to Customer Service.

At Customer Service I only spent 5 minutes, which was nice after the half hour spent at Geek Squad. CS told me that they didn't have any more of the Compaq, and so I needed to go back to the computer section and have someone find me a computer that was comparable to the Compaq that was broken.

I walked back to the laptop area. 45 minutes later, I finally got some help. Not that other people were being helped by associates, but just that there was NO ONE back there working! In fact, I couldn't see a single "blue shirt" person at all. The "blue shirt" helped me find an HP that had 3 GB RAM, 320 GB harddrive, and a webcam. He said it was the most comparable to the Compaq than all of the other laptops available. He walked me back up to CS and explained the situation to the CS guy.

Customer Service then said "No, I meant comparable in price, not features." The "blue shirt" looked shocked and said something to the effect of "then she won't get a decent computer because there isn't anything close to what she bought for that price."

After waiting for another 20 minutes at CS for the guy to finish up with everyone else (Seriously, 1 CS guy to the 5 of us waiting? That's just poor scheduling on a Saturday!) he finally got to help me. He pulled my file up and noted that I was on the last of my 14 day return time period. Then he said that since the laptop we had picked out was significantly more expensive than the one I initially purchased, the best option would be to send it in for repair. This required the assistance of a Geek Squad member.

GREAT!

So, back to Geek Squad I went. When I asked how long it would take to get it repaired, he said "About 3 weeks." There was nothing I could do to get it sooner. He started to type up the repair order, and realized he needed management's approval. Do you think he could find a manager? NO! What the heck? Saturday evening at 5 PM and there were NO MANAGERS IN THE STORE! Seriously! What kind of scheduler do they have there? That is just insane!

He finally found a manager. He came over, and instead of trying to be all nice and helpful was quite rude. I explained that I had been there for almost 2 hours, and needed to get this resolved. I told him that this was unacceptable that it has taken this long to fix a stupid space bar, or at least get the computer shipped out for repairs. I also explained that I was running on 30 minutes of sleep for the past 36 hours, and was very tired of waiting.

Now, any normal manager would realize that 2 hours to fix this problem was indeed unacceptable and would hopefully go out of their way to make sure I had a pleasant experience during the part where they were involved. This manager was not normal. He came up acting all "I'm better than you cuz I'm a manager" and was rude the whole time.

According to him, the Compaq was no longer being repaired. I explained that my Compaq was a whole 14 days old. "Well that doesn't matter, they won't repair it. You can even read the screen if you want, but I can't do anything for you!" So what were my options? Switch it out for another computer of course! I then ask "So what was the point of me paying for the 2-year Black Tie Protection Plan?" He explains, "Well that's so you can get a new one if this one breaks." So could I get a new one? Not for the price I paid. The HP we had picked out back in laptops was significantly more expensive, remember? I asked what kind of deal he could give me.

"Well, I guess I could get it to you for $50." And would my service plan transfer? "No, you'd have to return that to get the deal. And then you could buy it again for $80." Seriously? That's retarded!

I decided to just deal and do it. It was a better computer, after all. I went to get my power cord out. It wasn't in the bag. Apparently I'd left it at home. UGH! I was very frustrated. The manager, with a smirk, says "Well I can't exchange this without the power cord. So I guess you'll just have to go home and get it and come back later tonight. We close at 9." I explain that I live in Spanish Fork, and driving for another hour was out of the question. "Well, I guess I could hold it until tomorrow for you." I asked if he would be there. He said he wouldn't but he would make sure the managers knew what was going on with the computer. I left the store, after 2 hours, still with a broken laptop.

Sunday we went in at 10:45 AM. We grabbed the ad. There on the front page was my Compaq, only with an HP branding! It was $400. I went to CS and explained the situation. The girl was appalled that it took them 2 hours and it was still unresolved. She was really nice. She also said it was giving her the option to send out the Compaq. What the HECK?! I told her I just wanted to switch it out for the one in the ad. She was okay with that. She called someone back in laptops to bring it up to the CS counter.

Who brought it up? Oh, the manager from the night before who said he wouldn't be there. What did he say to me? "Did you bring your power cord this time?" (Since the power cord was sitting on top of the laptop on top of the counter next to the box he just brought up. I felt that remark, and the accompanying tone, was a little unneccessary.)

They switched the computers out for me. I had to pay $30. In the car on the way home I looked at my receipt and discovered that the Compaq was a t3400, and the HP was a t3400. Yeah, I had to pay $30 for the same thing, only it said HP instead of Compaq (HP owns Compaq, and we suspect they are re-branding everything to HP) Mike was a little upset that we had to pay for the exchange. Whatever.

We got it home, and was it the one from the ad? Ummm...NO it sure wasn't. It was totally different. It has HDMI out (which Mike says is awesome, but I say "When in the HE** am I going to need HDMI out?), and it doesn't have a 10-key. I had to go buy a USB 10-key for it. Yeah, I'm just a little pissed at Best Buy. At least with this new computer my Black Tie Protection plan transfers over, and I didn't have to return it.

Let's just say that I will probably NEVER purchase another laptop from Best Buy...or at least from the Orem store. Sorry Best Buy, but you did this to yourself. Sure do wish that Circuit City was staying around.

The Cuteness Continues

Today at work, Marshy fell asleep in his playpen. I LOVE the little buttcrack he has hanging out!
It was really cold, due to all the flowers, so I covered him up with a blanket. I thought his face was so precious too. I wish I could've gotten a better picture of him through the side of the crib, but the mesh sides made the photo not turn out. :(

Tonight we gave him a bath before bed, and he splashed and splashed and splashed. It was so funny! He even stuck his face in the water!! YAY for not being afraid of the water anymore!! :)

We're moving tomorrow, and my mom is going to take him to her house for the day. I'm hoping to get his room totally set up before he comes back down from the SLC. Any other tips for making a smoother transition to the new house? I was thinking that if his room was all set up he'd know it was his space, and not freak out too much...but I'm still worried that the new house will freak him out because he's never seen it.

Also, not getting internet and cable until Wednesday at the new place :( I am almost certain that I will be going through withdrawls for the next 4 days! YIKES!

So Sweet

So, around 11:30 PM, Marshy sneaked out of his room and climbed into my bed. I was in the living room checking my email. I heard him sneak out of his room. He is so funny, because he thinks I don't hear him.

I have discovered that Marshy didn't want to go to bed because he doesn't like his room. He likes my room. And my bed. And his dad's pillows (sorry Mike!) He climbed up onto the bed, laid down on the pillows, and pulled the sheets up over him. He looked up at me and said "Na-night!" I snuggled next to him for a few minutes and pretended to sleep. He sat straight up and said "Mommy. Mommy. Mommy." and then he whispered "wake up!"

I tried so hard not to laugh! It was the cutest thing ever! We played this game for about 15 minutes before I designated it the official sleep-in-your-own-bed-bedtime. Fortunately he was so tired he went right to sleep.

As frustrated as I get at him for not going to bed at bedtime, he sure does do the sweetest things. Last night he would wait til I was almost out the door and would say "mommy. Mommy." until I came back into the room. He'd give me a hug, gripping my arm tight and then smile and say "wov you". How cute is that?!

Funny funny

If you missed this, like I did, check it out for a great laugh.

Seriously, what was he on? Any thoughts?

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I feel like tearing my hair out. See, we're moving on SATURDAY....as in TWO DAYS from today. I have been packing for 2 weeks. I still don't have everything packed.

It is 11 PM.

I have a whopping 3 empty boxes left to pack a bathroom, all my knick-knacks, and a closet full of random stuff into. Yes, I think I am short way too many boxes.

Did I mention it's 11 PM?

Did I also mention that my 2 year old is sneaking down the hall at this very minute, hoping I won't see him and put him back into bed?

Too bad for him that it is WAY past his bedtime...by upwards of 4 hours.

Too bad for me I gave him a melatonin last night.

Okay, I'm calm now. He's in bed....for the time being.... and I am going to veg on the couch now for a while. Maybe I'll pop a movie in or something. And maybe I'll eat some food. I'm kind of hungry. Couldn't possibly be because I've been packing and moving and lifting boxes since 7 PM.

I don't know when we'll get our internet hooked up, so you might not hear from me for a while. I will try not to go through internet withdrawls.

Some stress relieved

My class is scheduled to end on the 24th of February. HAHAHAHA. Yeah, not even close to finishing.

Last night I emailed my counsellor asking if I could maybe register for part 2 in April instead of March, especially since I would be losing the better part of this week with the move (and work, but I didn't bother her with that information).

She emailed me back and said I could either:

A) extend until March 28th, but because I was "still at the beginning of the coursework this would require a lot of hard work and dedication to finish because the clinic notes take around 130 hours to complete" (I think she was trying to scare me).

OR:

B) I could re-register for part 1 in March, giving me 16 more weeks, but I would have to retake everything I've already done.

Ummm.....

Yeah........

I opted for the extension until March 28th.

I also informed her that I study until around 2 AM every night, and this extension would enable me to not kill myself.

Mike seems to think I can finish the course by the end of February. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Yeah right!

Especially since I am now working on "resources" and learning about word history, etc, and my medical dictionary (the one that weighs like 20 lbs) is packed away in the bottom of one of the many boxes stacked in one of the many rooms of our apartment. I am not going to unpack everything just to find this book. That would be crazy.

So, this defnitely takes some stress off my shoulders. Maybe now I can focus on getting over this blasted cold I have suddenly gotten (that has totally kicked my trash - I came home from work, put Marshy in his high chair with his dinner, and fell asleep on the couch for 40 minutes!).

Funny

Found his old Bumbo while I was packing up his things yesterday. Funny how when they're big enough to use the thing they HATE it, but now that they're too big they want to play with it. It's his favorite new chair. In fact, he threw a fit when I took it away and put it in the "to be boxed" pile.

He's having a hard time understanding what's going on. I packed up almost all of his toys yesterday while he was eating dinner. When he got to his room and saw the pile of boxes he didn't understand. He saw "Horton Hatches an Egg" (only one of his favorite books of all time so far) through one of the hand holds in the boxes. He flipped out until I opened the box and pulled it out. He can still see part of one of his trucks in there, but I am not getting it out for him. He'll just have to deal with it until Saturday.

Mike is going out of town on business tomorrow (Idaho this month), so it will be just me and Marsh packing. Well, really just me. This means my days will consist of something like this: get up, get ready, go to work. Work until 5 or 6, go home, eat dinner. Put Marsh to bed, pack until 9 or 10. Study until 1 or 2. Yeah, so much fun. All by myself. Oh well, I can do it. I think I have half the house packed up already! YAY for me!! :D

My class is supposed to end on the 24th. I'm not even to the midterm yet (but I am close!) I emailed my counselor to see if I could register for part 2 in April instead of March, since I am not finished with part 1 yet. Hopefully she says yes!

My Gears are GRINDING!

"You know what really grinds my gears?" (~Peter Griffin on Family Guy)

Seriously. The fact that Hotmail has been down for over 14 hours is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!

The best part about it is that when you post a question to their help forum, they send you an email to your hotmail account. HAHAHAHAHA So NOT FUNNY!

How do I know it's going to my hotmail account? Because my windows live messenger still works. I just can't access my email.

And, it's not just me that is affected. From what I can tell, there are at least 100s of people affected by this. Again: ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!

We've all been posting on the forums, and of course, the Hotmail Live Help Team isn't giving us any answers. All they do is send you a link to a "help" page that has absolutely NO relevant information about how to fix the problem, and then say they can't tell you what's going on or how long it will take to fix it.

What I want to know is, how long will this be down? Seriously! 14 1/2 hours!!! That's most of my day that I haven't been able to access my email account.

THIS IS MAKING ME VERY ANGRY!

..... and you wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!

FINALLY!

The last year of TV has been rather difficult for us. We've had to give up several of our favorite TV shows because we have cable TV instead of DirecTV, which means we don't have Tivo. We have given up CSI (sadly, but we did get to see Grissom's last 2 episodes, which were really REALLY good), Without a Trace, Biggest Loser, Law and Order SVU, Amazing Race, Intervention, Secret Life, and Mike has had to give up Paranormal State because it comes on at 11 PM and plays for 2 hours.

This past Monday was especially hard. Chuck is back on NBC now, at 7 PM, and House is on Fox at 7 PM. We picked the 3D Chuck over House (sadly not knowing that Chuck would be in standard def on Hulu the next day!). At 8 PM it was Heroes, which was awesome as usual, and at 11 PM was Secret Life on ABC and Paranormal State on A&E. I chose Paranormal State, and then watched the Secret Life re-play at 1 AM.

Well, enough was enough! We are moving, and the city we're moving to has digital cable, which really made Mike happy.

We did some looking around and found an AWESOME deal on a Tivo today. We went over to Best Buy and got it.

OH HOW I MISSED MY TIVO!! I don't have to miss any part of my shows because someone is throwing a tantrum because his bottle is only halfway full instead of totally full. I don't have to stay up late to watch all of Hello Dolly on AMC because I can now record it. It is a dual channel Tivo, so we can watch/record 2 shows at the same time again. Do you know what this means?? DO YOU??? It means I can go back to watching ALL of my shows!!

I am so excited!! Seriously, we have majorly missed out! AND! Because it's a Tivo and not a DirecTV unit we get to watch our Instant View Queue from Netflix on the Tivo box! YAY!

I feel like the people in the Comcast Triple Play commercials (you know, the one where they are so excited about their deals that they run out and tell everyone they see?). Yeah, just a little random post tonight about how happy I am.

Honestly, I don't know why we didn't just get a Tivo last year! Okay, I'm done now. I just really missed it. And I'm glad it's back. :D

So......Sleepy....

It's 3:15 AM.

I can't finish my Pharmacology unit because I need my foot pedal, which happens to be on the now empty bookshelf in the bedroom where Mike is soundly sleeping.

I really wanted to finish Pharmacology tonight. They started us on actually transcribing...or at least practicing it. It is HARD! VERY VERY VERY HARD! Some of those doctors speak so fast that I have no idea if they're saying US-193 or an actual drug name!

Since I can't finish studying my unit, I guess I'll go to bed.

Before I go to bed, I'd like to leave you with this:

He was watching Toy Story 2 on Mike's Blackberry Storm on the way home from work today. One minute he was chatting away at the movie, the next he looked like this. Seriously, he went from talking to totally out. It was funny.

I am now going to assume a similar position, only one that is a tad bit more comfortable, in my bed with my down pillows and hopefully manage to get 5 hours of sleep. Hoping that Marshy doesn't wake up at 4 AM again!

Good News

I am typing this post right from my brand spanking new LAPTOP! WAHOO!! Best Buy was having an awesome sale this weekend, so I went and picked one up. I even bought the 2 year warranty. Yeah, I know, I splurged. But, now I am going to be able to study without sitting in front of the 42 inch plasma to study, but on the couch or at the kitchen table. Also, I'll now be able to run Quickbooks without crashing the system every time. YAY!

Top 5

You remember when you were a teenager, and you'd see a movie with the latest "hunk" and you'd totally be in love, because he was close to your age (because back then that totally mattered) and there was a chance that maybe you'd meet him on the street or something and he'd fall madly in love with you and you'd get married and live happily ever after just like in his movies? (Yes, that was my fantasy with Freddie Prinze Jr. and Heath Ledger. Obviously it didn't come true!) This doesn't really have to do with anything...just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one. hahaha

Anyway.... tonight we watched The Incredible Hulk. The 2008 version, not the crapppy 2003 version that SUCKED. This one had Edward Norton in it. I didn't realize how much I like his movies until recently. I've always like the Italian Job, but that was because of other actors (mainly the characters Handsome Rob and Charlie) in it. Recently we watched the Illusionist (much to my protestation) but I ended up quite enjoying it. Tonight when we watched Incredible Hulk I had a realization. He is almost as hunky as Hugh Jackman. Almost. (Another plus for the movie was that Robert Downey Jr was in the last few minutes...and I quite enjoy him too).

So, who do you think is the hunkiest actor out there? My top 5 (and my favorite roles they played)?

5. Harrison Ford (Han Solo or Jack Ryan) tied with Collin Firth (Mr. Darcy)
4. Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man)
3. Edward Norton (Hulk)
2. Hugh Jackman (Wolverine...although I could do without the sideburns. I haven't seen Australia yet, but I hear he is quite the "hottie" in it!)

and....

the number 1 hunkiest actor out there on my list goes to:

1. Christian Bale (Can't decide if I liked him better in Newsies, Little Women, or Batman....hmmm...maybe Batman)
