Cute Quilt

So, Mike's cousin Melanie brought me a quilt a while back. It's one their ward got from the Humanitarian Services. They were going to tie it, until Melanie saw how cute it was all pieced and she insisted that it be quilted. It turned out so cute! It's not really colors that I would have ever used. It actually reminds me a lot of the furniture my parents had back in the early 80s...you know, all browns and oranges and stuff? I think it must've been furniture that they had when they got married in the 70's. But that doesn't mean the quilt isn't still cute. I LOVE IT!
This is the back of the quilt. I used a light tan thread, that ended up matching perfectly with the backing fabric. I pretty much did in-the-ditch quilting around the blocks and borders, and in a few borders I did rectangles to give it a little something extra.
In one border I did flowers with leaves. The border was a really busy floral print, so I knew I just HAD to do something with it besides the rectangles.
Now that I'm done with this quilt, I'm actually really glad I put it off as long as I did. Before, my stitch regulator wasn't working. But now that it's fixed, I honestly don't know how I would have done this quilt because the regulated stitch makes it SO much easier.

So cute. I like the flowers you did on the border. Good call.
