"Mommy teef hurt?"

I had my connective tissue replacement graft today. Boy does it kill! It took about 2 hours for the whole thing. They numbed my lower jaw and I listened to music while they worked. I have 4 prescriptions: Amoxycillin, Lortab, Phenergan, and Ibuprofen 800s. I had to wait 2 hours before I could take the gauze out and eat (cuz the Ibuprofen says "take with food"). I couldn't take the Lortab until I got home, because I still had to drive.

I took the Lortab maybe 30 minutes ago, and it has just started to kick in. It kind of makes me feel cloudy.

I'm not supposed to bite into anything, and only chew on my left or right sides. This is quite difficult. I had some soup for lunch. For dinner I had a little bit of Marshy's Spongebob Mac n' Cheese. I'm quickly learning to swallow food with minimal chewing.

I'm not supposed to really talk, either. Can you believe that?! I have a 3 year old....yeah, no talking? Not going to happen. I've been trying to keep the talking to a minimum, because it kind of hurts, but also to help the healing.

Marshy keeps trying to pull my lips down so he can see "Mommy's hurt teef." He's cute, but annoying. He knows I'm not supposed to talk (Grandma Vicki told him so) so what does he do? He asks me questions CONSTANTLY. For the first 2 hours when I could barely open my mouth I was just grunting responses, and he did NOT like that at all! haha

Hopefully it will get better over the next few days. My lips and tongue are finally back to normal size, and the bruising and swelling on my gums should go away within a few days, they said. {fingers crossed}

Has anyone else had connective tissue replacement? (Gum graft, etc.) Any advice for me?? Thanks!
