Random Question

How old is old enough to go to Disneyland for the first time?

I was 8 my first time. My brother was 5. He loved the characters still. Me, not so much.

It's just, Marshy loves the Disney characters so much right now, but I think 3 is maybe a little too young? I just don't want us to wait until he doesn't want to meet Mickey and Goofy and Donald. you know?

Anyway, just wondering what ya'all think about it. It's really expensive, anyway. I priced it out and for the 3 of us staying in an economy class hotel, it was still $1000 not including food!

Sounds like fun! He could do all the Mr. Toad and Dumbo type rides.

Add another $1000 for food, it's SO expensive there!
You might want to wait until he's tall enough to ride more of the rides.

Well don't let my opinion sway you because I hate crowds and I think it is overwhelming for little kids. But I have the perfect photo of my first 2 daughters at disneyland when they were 4 and 2 1/2. It is in front of A Small World and they have mickey mouse ears on skewed to the side holding a stuffed animal and frowning/tired/beat/so done with Disneyland. When I think we want to vacation there I get that picture out and we end up going somewhere else.

At 3, he will be too short to go on a lot of the rides. Plus, you'll be carrying him half the time. Wait till he's older.

I love Disney World and my Mom blames it on the fact that my grandmother wanted me to go around the age of 1. One may be a little to young, but every time I go I just think how much fun my nephew would have and he is three. I have been to both Disney World and Disney Land and I will say that Disney Land has an advantage for small children because it is smaller. Also check out Carousel Inn across the street from Disney's entrance the people there are fabulous.

Robert and I took Harley when she was 5 and she was still to short for some of the "big" rides. And she wanted nothing to do with the baby rides. And if you don't have someone else going with you, you and Mike will not be able to do anything but the little rides.

I think Kindergarten is a good age 5-6. Big enough to ride more rides and don't tire out so easily. You may be surprised too, he may freak out really seeing the characters in person at this age. I think he'll actually remember the trip too at 5-6. Avery doesn't remember much when we took her at 2, but at 5 she was way easier!

I will just say that we took our three sons a number of years ago and the youngest was 6 at the time and he really doesn't remember a whole lot but his brothers who were 8 and 10 have wonderful memories . The youngest also tired out more quickly and you had to carry him at times especially after being in long lineups .
