I finally bit the bullet and went to the doctor last night.
I've had a cough, like a hacking-cough your lungs/guts out cough, for 2 months. Everyone told me to go to the doctor, but I didn't want to go during the holidays. After about 3 straight days of coughing, I finally gave in.
I went last night, and the doctor gave me some not so great news.
My lungs are crackling, kind of like bronchitis. I have some sinus pressure, indicative of sinusitis. I have post-nasal drip which is causing a lot of issues. And to top it all off, I have walking pneumonia.
Yep.
Walking pneumonia.
So not what I wanted to hear.
I'm on omnicef, and carefully watching for adverse reactions. Why? Because I'm allergic to penicillins. Omnicef is a distant cousin of the -cillins, and I could have an adverse reaction to it (or I could not...depends on the person). He also gave me a stronger couch medicine (I've been taking Codeine, but it hasn't helped much). I'm currently taking Hydromet (a form of hydrocodone). It seems to be helping, a little, during the daytime, but I'm still coughing my guts out. Mike says it's good, because my body is trying to get rid of all the crap in my lungs. I can understand that, but honestly, I think if he were experiencing the same thing, he wouldn't be telling me it was "good".
I'm kind of pissed that I'm starting the new year off all sick, but at least I've been diagnosed and will, hopefully, get better soon.

Hey Jo, Hope you're doing better now. Sorry you were so sick. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Sorry its been a while since I've last wrote. Hope you all are doing well.
I had one of my kids with walking pneumonia for about 6 weeks. They never did anything but cough. I felt really bad when I took them to the DR. SO I hope all is good now.
