I made it!!

So, you know that never ending list I thought there was no way in HELL I'd finish?  Yeah, I finished it!!!!!

Living room clean?  CHECK
Presents wrapped?  CHECK
Mom's present made?  CHECK
Quilted 3 quilts for clients?  CHECK
Bound 3 other quilts for clients?  CHECK
Quilted 2 quilts for SIL?  CHECK
Camera/Camcorder charged & ready?  CHECK

So the only things that didn't get done were the friend presents (They will be "New Year's" cards instead of Christmas cards, probably!) and I didn't quilt/bind the Christmas quilt I made....which is no big deal, because I hadn't planned on them getting done anyway. ;)

This weekend should be fun!  Christmas officially in 5 mins (but present unwrapping happens in T-5 hrs 35 mins).  Breakfast at Lola's house at 7.  Presents with Grandma & Grandpa P at 10.  Lunch & presents with Nana & Pop-pop at 1.

Sunday, church (but who really wants to go to church the day after Christmas?  Yeah, us neither....but we'll probably drag ourselves there for the first hour).

Monday, a little work, then pre-wedding party with the whole fam-damily at my mom's house in SLC.  Dinner at 5.

Tuesday, a little more work, then wedding reception for my cousin at 7:30 at her parents' house in SLC.

Anyone noticing how frequently I'll be driving from Spanish Fork to SLC?  Yeah.....not looking forward to the freeway this weekend, since it's totally ripped up and under construction, but it should be fun once we make it there!

I promise to take lots of pictures and post them!! :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Christmas Readiness Update

Remember the list from my last post?  Well, I've actually finished a few things from it!  (I know, you're all gasping in surprise, and then laughing, that I've actually finished something. Go ahead and laugh. It won't hurt my feelings.  I'm laughing too! haha)

So, here's what I've finished:

Quilted 2 quilts for clients (1 quilt left!!!)
Bound 3 quilts for clients
Halfway finished making my mom's present (hoping to finish tonight)

I did clean the kitchen, which isn't quite the living room, but it's close.... hoping to get the living room tomorrow

I also found the camcorder, and all it's charging components.  Haven't plugged it all in yet....will do so tomorrow.  Same with the camera (charging cables are at work, instead of home)

Tomorrow I'm hoping to finish the last client quilt before Christmas, and do both of my SIL's quilts.  I also have a small quilt for my MIL, which shouldn't take more than a few minutes to do. This would leave me with OOOOOODLES of time on Friday to wrap presents, quilt and bind the quilt for my family (well.....at least quilt it! haha) and possibly even get our Christmas cards out in the mail this week (although I honestly wouldn't hold my breath on that one...sorry peeps!)

Not sure if any of you who read my last post actually were wishing me luck, but it sure does feel like it, because I am feeling like I've gotten a lot completed....although my list still looks like it came from Hades....

I'm so not ready!

I am so not ready for Saturday.  For those of you who may have forgotten, Saturday is Christmas.  yep, It's in just a few days.

I still have to:

Clean the living room
Wrap all the presents
Make my mom's present
Quilt 3 quilts for clients
Bind 3 other quilts for clients
Quilt 2 quilts for my SIL
Quilt & bind a quilt for my family's Christmas (new tradition I madly decided to start)
Find the charging cable for the camera and video camera and charge said electronics
Buy and ship our friend gifts (they so won't get there on time...sorry guys!)

Yeah, the list is daunting.

But, I have managed to send off 1 present already in the mail.  I'm really hoping I can finish everything else without having to spend the next three days without any sleep.  Wish me luck!

Happy Mother's Day!

OMG I had the best Mother's Day ever! My fabulous husband took me shopping this weekend for my Mother's Day present. He got me a great outfit (I bought the shoes).
I got these shoes, only in black, from Forever 21.

I got this fabulous Miss Me Unplugged t-shirt from Dillard's.

And these fabulous Miss Me cropped jeans from Dillards.
We also went to Buckle, and I fell in love with a lot of the Miss Me jeans they had. The best part about the whole trip, besides the new outfit? The jeans are size 29! I have NEVER worn a 29 in my life! WOOHOO
Sunday afternoon we had dinner at the park with the family. It was a really great weekend. What did you do for Mother's Day?

Puppy

I'd like to introduce you to Puppy. (Here he is with Marshy in August...he has since lost a little weight and turned grey, but we still love him)

Puppy is Marshy's best friend in the whole world, next to Mommy of course.

Puppy goes everywhere Marshy does: even to the potty, although Mommy puts her foot down and insists that Puppy sits on the couch in the living room.

Daddy watched Marshy and Puppy on Saturday while Mommy worked at Sweetbriar for Valentine's Day. Apparently, the whole day Puppy was "sad." This is the convo according to Mike:

Marsh: Puppy's sad.
Dad: Why is Puppy sad?
Marsh: Cuz Puppy's mom is gone.
Dad: Oh.
Marsh: Marshall's sad too.
Dad: Why is Marshall sad?
Marsh: Cuz Marshall's mom is gone.

HOW CUTE IS THAT?! I mean, it's sad, but cute too, that he missed me that much. Sweet boy.

Today Puppy got wrapped up in a towel at work and took a nap next to Marshy, because "Puppy's seepy, he's gonna go take a rest." Then Puppy woke up and helped Marshy do a puzzle and eat his lunch. Funny Puppy! When we got home he even played the DS! haha. Marsh really has Puppy play, too....he holds the stylus and Puppy's paw in his hand and then plays the game that way, so that Puppy can have a turn.

I can't wait to see what Puppy and Marshy do tomorrow.

Send me no flowers

I've had enough! It's Valentine's weekend. I don't want to see another flower for a couple of days, after tomorrow.

Unless, of course, Mike decides to buy me some on his own, and I don't have to make them.

Of course, my HCG diet was his present to me, so he probably won't be getting me flowers, which is OK.

Worked 10 hours today, a few hours Thursday afternoon, and plan on working all day tomorrow too at the floral shop.

Can I tell you something stupid? The local high school had a semi-formal, flowered dance 3 weeks ago. It was girls' choice. Tomorrow (Saturday) is the Valentine's dance: semi-formal, flowered, and boys' choice. Do they not realize how expensive flowers are?? And how stupid is it to have a dance just 3 weeks after the last one? It's dumb, that's what it is.

So, if you don't hear from me for a couple of days, I am either dead or recovering from V-Day.

Christmas

This is Christmas afternoon at around noon, on I-15 NB. I don't know if you can see it in the photos, but you can only see the mountains. That is how BAD the air quality is right now!!
Can you believe how GROSS that is?! We BREATHE that crap! YUCK!

Nana and Pop-pop got Marshy a puzzle, and of course he wanted to put it together like a million times while we were there.

He's so smart!

And once he does the puzzle twice, then he can do it super quickly!!

Christmas Eve and Other Precious Moments

Before going to the dinosaur museum in November, we stopped at L&L's Hawaiian Barbecue in Provo for lunch. Oh it is the best Hawaiian food I've ever had! Get the Kalua Pork without cabbage. It is so yummy!! Or the chicken katsu...or the spam musubi. Mmmm.....I know what I want for lunch on Monday! haha

Marshy had a shy moment.

"Love you, Dad!"

Marshy shared Mike's chicken katsu, and he LOVED it! of course, he'll eat any meat as long as you tell him it's chicken! haha

One day at the shop, great-niece Gabby decided to play hair salon with Marshy. Marshy didn't seem to care....he was too enthralled with the DS.

Mike's desktop computer is up in our room. He likes to play video games on it, and Marshy likes to sit in our bed next to Mike and play the Nintendo DS. He fell asleep playing one night. So precious!

Pre-Christmas open house at the shop. Cheesing it up, of course!
Marshy woke up at 5 AM on Christmas Eve. The family party was at 6 PM, so we tried to get him to take a nap (or as we called it a "rest"). He wouldn't sleep in his own room, so I had him lie down by me on the couch. Next thing I knew, Mike was waking us up at 5:30!!

At the party, being a kitty cat (or a puppy, depending on the mood)

Playing with Sparky. Sparky wasn't too happy.

"Let me go! Let me go! Momma help me! This little boy is driving me nuts!!"
All the kids opened up pajamas. We forgot to buy him jammies, so we let him open one of his books. He immediately went and sat with Grandma and Grandpa to show them his story.

Dancing with the kids.

Drinking his sprite in a sippy cup.

At the shop, with Alex. I was trying to get the tripod set up for the right height and distance for the Colton's Angels photo, but then we ended up cancelling the meeting. Alex was kind enough to be the model. Marshy saw the camera and decided to cheese it up.

Marshy's Christmas Haul

We got so many presents from Santa this year! Thank you Santa! He brought me 2 1000 piece puzzles from the Hometown Collection.
He brought Mike the R.A. Salvatore Legend of Drizzt Set 2 books (box set of 3 books) and a package of Pepperidge Farms Soft Baked Chunk Macadamia Nut cookies.

Marshy got quite the haul from Santa! New Cars beddings, a Mickey Mouse flashlight, a Spongebob Magnetix drawing pad, a crochet puppy, Elefun, Where the Wild Things Are, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, a dinosaur book, and a candy cane full of candy.
From Grandma and Grandpa P he got some hand puppets. From Aunt Di and her family he got a cute little remote control puppy. It's blue and it barks and wags its tail when you push one button, and walks when you push another. He LOVES it! Nana and Pop-pop gave him a Wonder Pets puzzle.
Mike and I got a new waffle iron, some waffle mix, and Mike got a pair of slippers from his parents. Thank you so much! We needed a new waffle iron (how did you know?!)! :) From my parents we got the Legend of Drizzt Set 1 (R.A. Salvatore) books box set of 3 books, and my brother gave us Bug's Life on blu-ray. Mike's sister gave us 2 word games: Bananarama and Quiddle (they look really fun, we can't wait to try them!) and MIB on blu-ray.
We had quite the haul by the time we got home! Thank you so much to everyone!!

Last year I bought yards and yards and yards of Disney's Cars fabric. I had all these great ideas of making curtains and matching sheets and a really cute quilt all for Marshy's room for his birthday....last year. It so didn't get done! I made the quilt, but it sat around waiting to be quilted. It finally got done (photo further down).
I made a flat sheet out of my leftover Cars Lightning McQueen fabric. It isn't as big as I thought I was making it, but it looks cute on Marshy's bed, and he likes it which is all that matters.
I also made a pillowcase. I have some of the tan fabric leftover, and am considering making curtains out of them....maybe. We'll see what happens! haha

This is the quilt I made. It turned out so cute....and HUGE! I didn't realize how big it was when I made it. Tonight, putting it on Marshy's bed was an adventure. Let's just say that a twin size quilt looks really big on a converted crib/daybed! haha :)
I also made a bedskirt. It looks so cute on his bed with all the pieces together! And he loves it, and that is all I really care about. :)

UPDATED!

I have almost completely updated my quilting blog! YAY! I'd stay up and finish uploading the last 5 quilts from this month, but it's 2:30 AM Christmas morning....I think I'll go get a few hours of sleep before we wake Marshy up to see what Santa brought!

So, if you have time or the chance, go visit my quilting blog and see the cute quilts people have made. I get so many ideas from the quilts I quilt because I see so many different patterns and fabrics and styles of quilts.

AND, HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

So behind!

I was going to work a lot tonight. But I wore heels to the shop today and stood from 10:30 until 5:30 with only maybe an hour break total. I'm doing the flowers for my cousin's wedding on Saturday. Only half of the flowers are done. I have to finish tomorrow.

Anyway, my feet are KILLING me so I crashed on the couch and started watching the Santa Clause on Disney. I fell asleep 30 minutes in. When I woke up I restarted it, then fell asleep in the EXACT SAME SPOT! At 10:30 PM I went upstairs to go to bed and, wouldn't you know it, couldn't. So now I'm restless. It's too late to go work. My feet are still killing me. And, Mike is watching a movie downstairs (Public Enemies) so I can't sew.

UGH! I AM SO BEHIND!!!

Quickie Post

My Droid came today. It is AWESOME!!!

Also, got my sutures out on Tuesday. Have to go back in next Tuesday for a check-up. He's still worried about my one tooth.....the one that had like no gum on it and had lost some of the bone. Yeah, the fact that he's worried worries me. Hopefully it all works out. It's looking pretty good so far, but what do I know? I'm not a periodontist (for a reason! haha)!

Also, I'm spending Friday and Saturday doing flowers for my cousin's wedding. I'm a little stressed. I hope it doesn't snow on Saturday. I have to drive up to the Salty City Saturday afternoon to deliver the wedding dinner flowers/centerpieces.

ALSO ---- I have about 7 1/2 quilts left to do BEFORE Christmas (yes, Angel, that is counting your special last-minute one that you've been going to finish for 2 years now :-) haha)

OH, yeah, and Christmas is next SATURDAY. I still have gifts to make for friends, family, etc. So much fun, let me tell you! I do this every year. Last year I stayed up all night Christmas Eve finishing quilts, wrapping presents, and putting things together for family.

Hopefully this year I finish BEFORE Christmas Eve! haha

All I Want for Christmas, pt 2

Ordered it today. Ordered Mike's, too. They're coming tomorrow. I am so excited!

The idea of unlimited internet on my PHONE has me giddy! Now I can check my email, facebook, blog, update things, whatever ANYWHERE I GO! :)

I'm so happy. Thanks honey for a great Christmas present :)

What do you get....

....The parents who are having a "spiritual Christmas" (a.k.a.: "we're not spending any money this year") (Oh, and you've already bought the gift for one of them)?

....The 3 year old who wants EVERYTHING he sees?

....The husband who likes video games, electronics, and all other really expensive things?

....The grandma who has no sense of smell, can't eat anything with sugar, and you made her a quilt last year, so it has to top that?

....The family you have for Christmas that has 2 boys (Dad and son who love video games, electronics, and all things expensive), and 3 girls (Mom, daughter, and baby who are all diverse in their likes/dislikes)?

....The grandma who's birthday happens to also be on Christmas, so whatever you get is kind of a double gift, but also for Grandpa too, so he doesn't feel left out?

I need help!!!

It is now the 5th of December and I am in such big trouble! Usually I'm done with my shopping by now. I had planned out everything I was going to get people.

Marshy was going to get Woody w/RC and the Buzz Lightyear action figure (until I found out how much they were!).

Mike was going to get a video game (until he decided that he'd rather play the PC than the XBOX 360).

Mom was going to get a sewing machine (until lil' bro didn't pay up his half of the money and the machine is no longer available on the killer sale we were gonna buy it on).

As for everyone else, well.....I was gonna play that by ear, I guess.

Today I did do a little shopping at Wal-Mart (my FAVORITE store EVER!). I bought Elefun for $13.88 (instead of the $25 at Shopko), a fun Spongebob Squarepants magnetic toy w/book, and a $3.00 bargain bin book about dinosaurs. At least Marsh will have some presents now! haha. He is getting a Cars comforter (if I ever finish binding it....I'm so close to being done, it just takes me sitting down at the machine to finish it off, and I don't ever feel like doing that!) and a matching Cars pillow case. I'm sure he's going to be so thrilled to be getting bedding for Christmas, but, oh well!

He's been asking for a "big boy bed." I'm assumming that the crib-turned-daybed is now too small for him. He's getting quite large for it, I must admit. However, buying the "big boy bed" requires buying a new mattress. I love IKEA, but we just haven't found the bed that screams "Marshy" yet.

Can I just say that I absolutely HATE shopping this time of year?? Anyone else feeling as lost and confused this time of year as I am??

A comparison

I found a cute picture while going through my photos on my laptop, and thought I'd show you a comparison.

Below: Marshy, age 3, Halloween 2009 - turtle
Below: Marshy, age 1, Halloween 2007 - dinosaur

Can you believe how BALD that little boy was? And now look how much hair he has! HOLY CRAP! I can't believe how little he was, too. It's hard to remember him that little because he is so HUGE now! haha

Trunk or Treat: Day 2

On Halloween we went to Grandma and Grandpa P's trunk-or-treat. Our ward doesn't do trunk or treat because they think it's stupid and everyone trick or treats door to door. I like that the kids can get all their candy in about 10 minutes and I don't have to traipse all over the city.
Marshy filled his bucket quickly. The popular candy this year were suckers. Marshy had 5 suckers, and he wanted them all unwrapped and in his mouth at the same time. He was sad/mad because I wouldn't let him.

It got to the point where I had to hide his bucket of candy/suckers in the car until we were done. He was so mad! He cried and cried and cried because I wouldn't let him have 5 suckers all at once. I know, I'm such a mean parent.
After trunk or treat was over he went with Grandma and Grandpa to Aunt Angel's house for dinner. It was really yummy. Mike was sick, so we took him some food home. We also stuck a sign on our door that said "sleeping baby, do not disturb" so that noone would ring our doorbell. I didn't hear anyone outside (the windows were open) all night. So much for the neighborhood being big on trick or treating door to door, huh? haha! Glad we went to trunk or treat. It was so much easier! :)
Marshy still walks around the house with his bucket saying "Trunk or treat. Trunk or treat." It's quite funny.

Trunk or Treat: Day 1

Friday we went up to my parents' house in the SLC to go to their trunk-or-treat. Marshy was so excited, for 2 days he kept saying "Nana, PopPop and Jonny?" Jonny is his uncle, who doesn't really hang out a whole lot with us, but Marshy still is his biggest fan.
We had pizza for dinner. Of course, as soon as we got the camera out, Marshy started cheesing it up.

After dinner we got Marshy ready to go trunk-or-treating for the first time. He was so excited to put his turtle costume on.
He beat everyone out to the car.

It took him about 3 cars to get the hang of trunk-or-treating. He LOVED it. Or maybe he just loved the candy. Either way, it was a successful night.

He was a little picky about some of the trunks. One car was a little scary, and he didn't want to get near it at all. Another car was handing out apples and he didn't want that.

He insisted on holding Nana's hand the whole time.

His bucket filled up pretty fast.

Check out those cute little turtle feet! The turtle hood didn't fit, due to the enormous cranium Marshy has.

Marshy liked to show off his favorite pieces of candy: Spongebob sweet tarts and a scary eyeball chocolate.

Showing Nana the scary eye.

All done and looking for PopPop.

Where did he go?

Marshy couldn't wait any more. He climbed into the car and waited patiently for us to finish chatting with people outside.
We went back to my parents' house. Jonny and some of his friends came over to print off tickets to a haunted house. Marshy had gotten a purple spider ring in one of his treats, and he put it on and "scared" the girls. They played along with it. It was so cute!
We didn't get home until after 11 PM. I was so tired, and poor Marsh was so hopped up on sugar that he couldn't fall asleep until he was in his bed.
