April OPAM finishes - Cutting it Close

I know, I'm cutting it close, but it's still April, so it counts! haha

This month I've been so busy at work I have hardly had time to work on my own projects. However, I did manage to get 2 really fun little Christmas ornament cross stitching kits done. Unfortunately, I can't get pictures to post, so they'll have to come later. I'll try in a few hours and see if it works {fingers crossed}

One of the cross stitchings is holly with the word "JOY" and the other is a Christmas bear (he's my favorite!).

UPDATE: As promised, below are the picutres:

Is it bad if...?

Is it bad if you're writing a book and you have to take out 15 pages because they suck? Did I mention they were consecutive pages?

Is it bad if you're writing a book and you have absolutely no idea how it's going to end, because it has suddenly taken on its own personality and is constantly changing its mind?

Is it bad if you're writing 12 books at the same time because you can't get past the first sentence on 11 of them?

Is it bad if you're writing a book and all you want to do is write? Even over watching your favorite TV show or reading your favorite books?

I am seriously having some major writer's block. The worst part is I keep coming up with ideas for other stories that I want to write, and I know how I want them to play out, but those first few crucial chapters are so elusive! I can't seem to write more than 1 or 2 sentences of pure garbage before I scrap the whole thing and move on to a different project! UGH this is so frustrating.

Okay, sorry, I just needed to vent for a minute. I'm okay. Now, back to writing something!

Friday is the Day!

We are getting my parents' old couches on Friday. I am so excited!

I am nervous, though, because my house is in complete and total CHAOS! I have five days to finish organizing everything before my parents come down with the couches. AAAHHH!

To top it all off, I'm so crazy busy at work. At the start of last week I had 30 quilts (24 for clients) that needed to be done. Now, I have 12 or 13. No big deal, right? haha!

So, whaddaya think? Do you think I can balance crazy work with CHAOS at home? I think I can do it. And then, once it's done, I'll be able to finally take pictures! YAY!

Sad Yet Glad

A sad thing happened to these pants today. I was at the shop, cutting up the fabric I bought last year to make my curtains for our apartment, and I got stuck on a screw that was jutting out from the counter. Now I have a huge hole in the side of my pants.

The good news though? The really awesome discount is still going on Amazon, so I got another set for $11.65 + free shipping with Amazon prime. So, since I'm still losing some weight, and plan on losing more, and my current size is falling off of me, I bought the next size smaller. I'm sure the jacket won't fit, but the jacket I have is fine still! :)

My new set is coming on Tuesday. WOOHOO! So excited! Now that I'm thinking about it, I should have gone back and ordered the blue set too while I was at it. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow!

I haven't posted a lot lately, and I'm sorry.

I'm currently trying to re-organize my life.

See, I just acquired a whole bunch of furniture from my parents, who no longer needed it. It's going to make my life a lot neater, easier, and more organized....but until I get everything sorted, put away, cleaned and organized life is a little hectic.

How hectic?

Let's just say that my husband asks me what I've done all day, and when I say "I cleaned and organized {insert room here}" he looks at me like I'm crazy. Then I quantify with "But you can only judge me on this section of the room...doesn't it look so much better?" haha He doesn't find it amusing.

So, I promise to post pictures and better posts soon.

In fact, I can guarantee a post in the near future, because I've done a lot of online shopping, and have some really great things to share when I actually get a second to sit down and upload pictures.

Oh, and did I mention that I have 30 quilts at work? 6 are mine, 1 is my MIL's, but the rest are for clients. Yeah, been working late nights again. It feels like December all over! haha

Stupid

Umm...so it's snowing outside.

It's April, shouldn't it be, oh, I don't know, SUNNY? And perhaps WARM? And definitely NOT snowing?!

I just scraped 5 inches of snow off of my car. I was at work. When I left to go back to work, it was misting, so I wore my "Team Jacob" track suit, and a pair of flip flops. Yeah, let's just say my toes are FROZEN! I'm just now starting to get the feeling back in them after standing in half a foot of snow to scrape the car off (about 15 minutes ago, at least!)

Also, people who think they can drive as fast as they normally do in a blizzard are INSANE. Do they not realize that by tailgating me while I got 20 mph on a 50 mph road in a blizzard, that I might be tempted to slow down even more, just to teach them a lesson? Of course, I don't because then I'd be out a car, and I kinda need my car. I only have the one. It's kind of important to me.

So, there you have it. Two stupid things that happened tonight: Stupid drivers, and Stupid weather. Dumb. I'm done. I'm done with the snow. Make it stop! PLEEEEASE?!

Furniture

I'm getting new furniture on Monday.

Well, it's not new, but it's new to me. My parents are getting rid of some of their furniture, and offered it to us. I'm so excited!!

Of course, this means that I have to move a whole bunch of stuff around, reorganize everything and make space for the new furniture.

I'm getting a secretary desk with bookshelf hutch, a buffet-type piece, a 3-drawer night stand, a tall bookshelf, and a sewing cabinet. I'm so excited for all of these pieces!! (especially the sewing cabinet!!)

I'm going to put the desk and the sewing cabinet in the kitchen/dining area. If my cookbooks fit on the shelves in the secretary hutch, then I'll put them there. I can move some of the books onto the new bookshelf, which is going to go upstairs in our room, and then maybe I can take both of my smaller shelves to work. I'm going to move all of the quilting/crafty books/magazines to work where I can utilize them.

I'm still deciding on the buffet-type piece. I might put it upstairs in our room, but it might go downstairs, too...we'll see. It would match better upstairs, so I'm more inclined to do that.

The 3-drawer night stand is going to in Marshy's room, most likely. I might like it in our room, but if I put it there, I'll need to sand it down and paint it a different color. Well, I'd have to do that for Marshy's room, too, but not necessarily as soon as if it were to be in my room.

Anyway, I'm really excited. Tomorrow I'm going to finish cleaning, moving, organizing, etc. I'll take pictures once everything is redone and the furniture is all in place.
